BEST DIRECTOR AWARD

On January 12, 2014, Narvini Dery won the Best Direstor award for her project "Enakku Piditha Poiye Archana". This project has also won 3rd place for the category of Best Song. Narvini Dery is the daughter of Ravishangar Rajadurai (Kalmunai) and Jeyanchaly Ravishangar (Myliddy) and currently lives in Aalborg, Denmark. ISSET Winning Experiment

First-time in history, two UK school students are having their ideas transported into space. The International Space School Educational Trust (ISSET) held a competition through its Mission Discovery program giving students the opportunity to design and build an experiment to be sent into space, and carried out by astronauts. Myliddy’s very own Siobhan Gnanakulendran, from Team Daffodils, and Deanna Middleton from Team Supernova have been both given the honour and the privilege of sending their experiments to the International Space Station. Siobhan’s experiment of examining slime mould’s reaction to zero gravity, to better understand slime mould and to prepare astronauts for a mould/bacteria leak on board the ISS, is going to be launched sometime this week, bringing great pride and joy to the Myliddy and Tamil community. The name for this honourable title and the person who should receive this title will be up all Myliddy citizens. Myliddy Temples

1000 Myliddy folks back home were given passes to allow them to visit the Amman, Murugan and Pillaiyar Temples. Upon receiving these passes, the folks arranged 20 mini buses and 3 vans in order to transport the people there. However were denied by the Sri Lankan Army this as soon as they got to Maavddapuram and were told that only 200 people would actually be able allowed in. These poor deceived folks were forced to return to their home after wastes their time, efforts and money. To see footage of this, please click on the link below.

2013 WINNERS

During the 2013 UK Thamilar Punarvalvukkalakam sports meet, Mr. Ruban Ratnarajah was named and awarded the title of top football player amongst all the participants at this event. Jano Antongeorge received 3 gold medals through his participation in various sports activities. Also, Sharangan Keri received 2 medals for his participation during this event. It has almost been 2 years since the start of Myliddy.com’s online poll to determine, which name they preferred for Myliddy.
Myliddy received 351 votes,
Myliddythurai received 80 votes,
Thevanthurai received 61 votes out of a total number of 492 voters.
Since, it is apparent that more people are in favour of Myliddy, based off the online poll. We have made the necessary preparations and have sent out these results to the ones responsible for the name change and have requested that they provide a response to the results of this online poll and an explanation to the people of Myliddy, as to what they are going to do next. We will post this when is made available to us. Please provide your comments and opinions about the name change on the link below.

Book Launching - 3rd Part (CANADA)

The former principal of Kalaimakalmaha Vithiyalayam, Kalapooshanam, Pandit S Appudurai had the book launching for the third part of his book on 15-04-2012. Representatives from the Tamil media (T.V.I., TAMIL ONE, Radio Stations and Newspapers) attended and captured joyous moments from this event. A great turnout appeared for this event as the hall was full of people. The Myliddy People would like to thank everyone who attended and helped make this event possible.

Name Change Poll

As you may have already seen, Myliddy.com started a poll on July 16, 2011, regarding the name change of Myliddy to Myliddy Thurai. Currently the results have Myliddy pegged as the more favourable name. The poll will closed on July 16, 2012, and if the majority prefer the name Myliddy over Myliddy Thurai then the people who made this change will be notified of the peoples’ preference. The response will be made available for viewing once a reply has been received. If you haven’t voted yet, you still have until July 16, 2012.
